In January, our School Holiday Program and Youth Activities were back for three weeks of action-packed fun! Kids aged 6 – 15 took part in a wide range of activities including waterslides, swimming and body boarding, wildlife parks, movies, a puppet theatre, Inflatable World, and more.
The aim of the program is to promote social inclusion in our community and build relationships. It also helps develop communication skills, life skills, and encourages kids to try new things. The holiday program is always a lot of fun and we receive great feedback from children and their parents.
Our Youth Activity participants, aged 16 – 21, completed an Op Shopping Challenge, toured Penguin Island, and made their way out of an escape room. These activities give the older group more control and allow them to make more choices on how their day will run. The aim of the Youth Activities is to empower young people to be independent in their community and meet new people.
Our next School Holiday Program will be from the 16th – 20th of April, and Youth Activities will run the following week of the 23rd to the 27th of April (excluding ANZAC Day on the 25th).
To be eligible to participate you must have NDIS funding for supports. If you would like to find out more about these activities, please contact Sophia on 08 9274 7575 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note, these activities are only available in Western Australia.
