What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is administered by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

All Australian residents with a permanent disability or Psycho-social/mental health disability that has a big impact on their day to day life may be eligible if they need support for the rest of their life, or early intervention, to reduce the amount of long term support needed.

Each eligible person will have their own personalised plan developed (generally renewed each 12 months) including goals and funding for that person. Choice and control are an integral part of the NDIS in all aspects of implementing the plan, including choice and control over providers, therapists, assistive technology etc, where it has been deemed reasonable and necessary.

Assistance with preplanning to help get the best plan for you is part of the support we offer.
