Support Coordination
We are a person-centred, values-based organisation built on founding principles of lived experience and local community.
At My Supports we believe in the importance of Support Coordination and the value local coordination adds to our clients’ lives. In fact, we recently took over the Support Coordination team of Aruma and are now one of the largest Support Coordination providers in the country.
Our operating model is built on strong Team Leaders and Support Coordinators embedded in local communities. We have great quality, safety, coaching and systems to effectively support local team leaders and coordinators grow and succeed.
We have a hugely flexible work-from-home culture.
We offer job security at a time of great uncertainty in the NDIS sector:
We are efficient, remaining financially sustainable even in the current environment.
We have pathways for Support Coordinators to broaden roles to create job security into the future, even if the NDIS Navigator model is introduced as proposed in the Bonyhady review.
If you are an experienced Support Coordinator committed to supporting an active caseload of participants, think your values may align with ours, and you’re interested in learning more about our model and plans for the future, fill out an expression of interest form below or click the “Current Vacancies” button to see our current job opportunities.
We employ people with a disability
One of My Supports most recognisable points of difference is that 50% of our staff have the lived experience of disability. This means they either have a disability themselves or they are a family carer of a person with a disability.
This is called the peer-led approach.
By having people with the lived experience support a person with a disability we believe there is a new level of understanding, motivation and engaging support for both the client and the support worker.
If you have a disability or are a family carer of a person with a disability, we’d love you to hear from you.
We work in neighbourhood teams
My Supports works in small Neighbourhood Teams across Australia. Each team provides support to their local community.
The teams are made up of a coordinator and about 20-30 support workers who live in the local area. Working together, the team meets together on a monthly basis to talk about the community, discuss challenges, and provide support to their fellow team members.
Our employees are always supported
Our Employees are always supported in their work. Each of our staff members has a friendly and approachable coordinator who they can reach out to for help or support. If you are one of our employees, your coordinator will be your go-to person to provide you with advice and to answer any questions you may have.
All new staff complete a two hour in-depth Induction Training that covers My Supports key processes and values, so you will be well equipped to start work. We also offer ongoing additional training throughout the calendar year so that you can add to your skills and knowledge.
Our Coaches (State Managers) and the coordination team leaders will develop the skills of Support Coordinators to further their career in the company.
