What are we looking for?

We are looking for dynamic personalities with all different skill sets to join our teams.

We pride ourselves on doing our very best to match our clients with our support workers based on compatible personality traits, their likes and dislikes and location, so the more you tell us about yourself the better! Do you have any particular hobbies, interests or areas of expertise? We want to know about it!

Our Neighbourhood Team Support Workers must be reliable, punctual, trustworthy, have good communication skills and a good understanding of our values. All support workers must obtain a National Police check and Working with Children Card before commencing work.

We are also looking for support workers with existing manual handling and personal care skills.

We employ people with a disability

One of My Supports most recognisable points of difference is that 50% of our staff have the lived experience of disability. This means they either have a disability themselves or they are a family carer of a person with a disability.

This is called the peer-led approach.

By having people with the lived experience support a person with a disability we believe there is a new level of understanding, motivation and engaging support for both the client and the support worker.

If you have a disability or are a family carer of a person with a disability, we’d love you to hear from you.

We work in neighbourhood teams

My Supports works in small Neighbourhood Teams across Australia. Each team provides support to their local community.

The teams are made up of a coordinator and about 20-30 support workers who live in the local area. Working together, the team meets together on a monthly basis to talk about the community, discuss challenges, and provide support to their fellow team members.

Our employees are always supported

Our Employees are always supported in their work. Each of our staff members has a friendly and approachable coordinator who they can reach out to for help or support. If you are one of our employees, your coordinator will be your go-to person to provide you with advice and to answer any questions you may have.

All new staff complete a two hour in-depth Induction Training that covers My Supports key processes and values, so you will be well equipped to start work. We also offer ongoing additional training throughout the calendar year so that you can add to your skills and knowledge.

Neighbourhood Teams will develop the skills of Support Workers to further their career in the company. The team encourages Support Workers to gain as much experience and training as they desire and there are also opportunities to take on more administration and coordinator tasks as a Neighbourhood Team Captain.
