10 Years of Impact: Meet Brooke, Coach of WA East & Regional Areas
For over a decade, Brooke Demasson has been a driving force at My Supports – starting as a Support Worker and working her way through a number of meaningful roles before becoming a Coach for WA East and Regional areas. In that time, she’s supported countless people to live more independently, grow their confidence, and thrive in their communities.
We sat down with Brooke to reflect on her journey, the changes she’s seen, and what keeps her inspired after ten years.
From Support Worker to Coach – A Journey of Growth
Brooke’s career at My Supports began on the frontline, supporting people in their homes and communities. She later transitioned into Support Coordination (back when the NDIS funding codes were only six digits), before taking on roles in Team Development and Organisational Development. Today, as a State Coach, she supports Neighbourhood Teams and helps staff across WA build their skills and confidence.
Along the way, Brooke discovered a deep passion for working with people experiencing complex mental health challenges, particularly in rural and remote areas. She also found strengths she hadn’t expected – like a surprising appreciation for WHS and risk management, and even a talent for public speaking.
“I’ve found a passion in mental health and complex clients, and the challenges of supporting people living with these complexities, especially in rural and remote areas.”
Watching My Supports Grow
When Brooke first joined the organisation, things looked a little different. There were only a handful of participants and staff—no formal policies, few systems, and certainly no desk phones. Since then, My Supports has grown significantly, expanding into most states and refining its Neighbourhood Team model.
Through that growth, Brooke says the heart of the organisation has stayed the same. The focus remains on personalised, community-based support that empowers people to reach their goals, no matter how big or small.
Why She’s Still Here: People, Purpose, and Progress
When asked what she’s most proud of after 10 years, Brooke doesn’t hesitate. It’s the people, and the progress—both for participants and for the organisation as a whole.
She’s seen individuals go from surviving to thriving: performing on stage, working in cafés, running their own businesses, or simply kicking personal goals and feeling good. And she’s done it alongside a team that shares her dedication.
“It’s the awesome team of people who make every day a success. The people we support and those I work with – are what make this job what it is.”
