What exactly does an NTL do?

You’ll wear a few different hats! You’ll be the main point of contact for participants in your “neighbourhood”, helping them navigate their NDIS plans and connect with the right services. You’ll also lead and support a team of local Support Workers, ensuring they have the resources they need to provide top-notch care.

Do I need specific qualifications and what kind of skills are you looking for?

While formal qualifications can be helpful, we value lived experience just as much! If you have a passion for helping others and a strong understanding of the NDIS, we encourage you to apply. We’re always looking for people with lived experience.

We’re looking for dynamic personalities with a variety of skill sets! Reliability, trustworthiness, good communication, and a solid understanding of our values are essential. Leadership skills and experience in disability services are a plus.

What is the “Neighbourhood Team” all about?

We work in small Neighbourhood Teams across Australia, focusing on our local community. The teams are made up of a team leader and anywhere from 5-20 support workers who live in the local area. Working together, the team meets together on a monthly basis to talk about the community, discuss challenges, and provide support to their fellow team members.

What kind of training will I receive?

We’re committed to supporting your professional development. You’ll complete an in-depth Induction that covers My Supports’ key processes and values, so you will be well equipped to start work, and you will be required to complete an annual program of skills courses, most of which are provided online. We also offer ongoing additional training throughout the calendar year.

I have a disability or I'm a family carer. Would I fit in at My Supports?

Absolutely! In fact, one of our biggest points of difference is that the majority of our staff have lived experience of disability. We believe this peer-led approach leads to better outcomes for both our clients and our team members.
