I want a new place to live

In the NDIS world there’s traditionally been one option: live in a group home (called a SIL). But we think there’s a range of great options. Let us help you live where you want to live and as independently as you can.

WHEN LIFE DEMANDS MORE

The right support changes everything.

He’s 27 now. I am 70 this year, and his mum is 68. We would do all the housework, the cleaning, everything. And he got used to it and he wouldn’t listen to us. We worried about who would care for him when we can't.
She explained to us that, he needs to learn to take care of himself... So that's what she brought in, specialised support to show him how to clean, and to wash. At home, he probably does about 90% of it all himself, which is good. And he’s being taught to budget, so in 2 or 3 years he can move to a supported or independent living arrangement.
They slipped through all the cracks... You had to fight for everything that they needed. It wasn't great. Nobody wanted to pay for anything. At night, I'd have to be up during the night constantly with her. So then you get like no sleep, and trying to go to work the next day is not an option.
The funding for the living arrangement My Supports helped us get allows us to keep the girls at home. Without them, I don’t know where we’d be.
They needed someone 24/7 and it became too much for just me. He had to give up his business, and so we gave up businesses and whatever, you know, to be able to continue to care for them.
The Individual Living Option (ILO) model made everything manageable. It gave us the support we needed to keep going.
